For about twenty years our work has been sound design. SALTSTRÖM is where it becomes software.

From the start
Sound programming

Most of that work has been sound programming: building sounds, releasing them, and seeing how producers and engineers put them to use.
Along the way
Collaborations

Along the way, at different stages, we worked with Native Instruments, PreSonus, Reason Studios and FL Studio on commercial sound releases. Each project taught us something about how professional audio products are made and what the people using them expect.

Tools of our own

After years of shaping sounds with other people's tools, building our own was the natural next step.

We build each tool the way we learned to program sounds: patiently, by ear, and with a real session in mind.
