Downloads

The download is the full plug-in. It works completely for seven days from the first time you open it; after that it stands aside and passes audio through untouched until a licence key is entered. There is no separate demo build and nothing to reinstall after you buy.

Installation

macOS: open the .pkg and follow it. It installs the AU into /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components and the VST3 into /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3; you can untick either. Restart your DAW. If Logic Pro does not list it, open Plug-in Manager, select SALTA EQ56 and choose Reset & Rescan Selection.

Windows: run the installer. It puts the plug-in into C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3, where every host looks, and adds an uninstaller under Apps. Then rescan plug-ins in your DAW. If Windows shows a SmartScreen notice for a new publisher, choose More info, then Run anyway. Prefer not to run an installer? Download the zip instead and copy the folder "Salta EQ56.vst3" into C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3 yourself.

Licence

A licence is your email address and a key, sent to that address right after the purchase and shown in your account under Orders. Open the plug-in, click CLICK HERE TO ACTIVATE YOUR COPY (or the SALTSTRÖM mark at the top right), enter both and press Activate. That is all; it never needs the internet, and the same email and key work on every machine you own, macOS or Windows.

The licence is kept in ~/Library/Application Support/Saltstrom/Salta EQ56/license.txt on macOS and %APPDATA%\Saltstrom\Salta EQ56\license.txt on Windows. Copying that file to another machine activates it too.

Lost the key? Write to us from the email you bought with, with the order number if you have it, and we will send it again.

Demo

Seven days, everything on, presets included. When they are over the plug-in stops processing: audio passes through untouched, a notice says the trial is over, and the controls wait for a licence. Enter the key and everything is back at once; nothing to reinstall.

Compatibility

Tested in Logic Pro, Ableton Live, Cubase, FL Studio, Reaper and Reason 12.2 or later, on macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel) and Windows.

Ableton Live on Windows: if the window looks soft, turn off Auto-Scale Plug-In Window under Preferences → Plug-Ins; Live then lets the plug-in draw at your display's scale.

Reason: VST3 needs Reason 12.2 or later. Pro Tools: there is no AAX build.

FAQ

What is SALTA EQ56?

A three-band tone-coloring equalizer. Each band has a frequency knob, a gain knob, a SHELF / BELL switch that picks the band's whole topology, and a COLOR lamp that adds that band's harmonic layer. The high band has a second lamp, CLARITY, that opens the top of the stereo picture.

Does COLOR take anything away from the signal?

No. The harmonic layer is added on top of the clean path, and the band's own fundamental stays where it was.

Which formats?

AU on macOS, VST3 on macOS and Windows. No AAX.

How many machines?

Every machine you own. The licence is tied to your email, not to hardware.

Do I need an account or the internet?

No. The purchase needs an email address for the key; the plug-in itself never goes online.
